I especially love being able to zip around the galaxy effortlessly with the jump drive, which I wasn't able to do in a previous playthrough with a Nova because M3s just don't have the cargo capacity to pull this stuff off. They also give prestige, and upping that with all races means traveling the galaxy and discovering, which is fun. The missions pay way more than trade routes would and are more fun to play. This is as far as I got, but now I feel like I'm sitting really pretty. With a speed of 130 many missions are doable and with 4000 cargo, it's easy to carry enough energy to jump multiple times wherever you need to, making it possible to even raid multiple suppliers across the galaxy to scrape together enough of some rare resource to fulfill the mission (*cough*computerchips*cough*) Lots more trading, but it's easier and more fun now, even some missions are doable Make the exciting first journey East through pirate sectors, to OATS HQ Explore lots of sectors, finding good sources and consumers of ore and energy, leaving sats there to identify best opportunities Use it to buy advanced satellites and give situational awareness for where demand is for ore and energy Trade energy and ore until 50k-ish over working capital, Start as a Humble Merchant and ignore the bugged flight school quest Meanwhile, I will list mine for anyone just getting into the game.
